What BopCheck keeps, and why.

BopCheck has no ads and no tracking cookies, and never sells your information. You can play without an account. Signing in and adding friends are optional.

On your device

Your progress, streak, stats, skins, gift notes, settings, initials and country are saved in your browser's storage on your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Sent to BopCheck

• Gameplay: a random ID made by your browser (not your name or account), the day, your answers and their timing, so scores can be checked and today's player stats shown.
• Leaderboard: if you post a score, your three letters, country and score are shown publicly.
• Account (optional): if you sign in, your email and a copy of your saved progress, so it can follow you to other phones and browsers. Your email is used only to send sign-in codes.
• Friends (optional): if you add friends, they can see your three letters, daily score, streak, how many days you've played and the skin you're wearing. A skin can be hidden from friends. Remove a friend and they stop seeing it.
• Gifts: if you open a gift link, which browser or account holds that gift.
• Email (optional): only if you ask for new modes. It's used to tell you when one launches, never shared, and you can reply to any email to be removed.
• Problem reports (optional): what you write, an optional contact, and basic device details to help fix the issue.
• Visits: counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you. The game also notes each visit's length, the site you came from (just its name), and whether you're on a phone or computer, under the same random ID.

Who runs this for us

The game is hosted by Vercel, its data is stored with Supabase, and sign-in emails are sent through Resend. They handle data only to run those services.

Music

Song clips stream from Apple's servers, which receive standard web requests (such as your IP address) when a clip plays.
